Derek Singleton

Derek has 25 years of clinical experience as a clinical social worker in Newfoundland Labrador and Southern Ontario.  He completed his B.S.W. studies at Memorial University and attained his M.S.W. with a focus in clinical practice at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, ON.

Derek has extensive experience with providing therapy with: teens, families, parents, adults and couples.

Areas of treatment competency include, but not limited to: anxiety disorders, various forms of trauma, depression, self harm, ADHD, divorce,  family conflict, school refusal, addictions (including excessive gaming), sexuality related issues,  gender identity, workplace stress, relationship issues and parenting strategies.

Derek has been practicing part time at Aspens and Oaks for 15 years and has been an Instructor at the Medical School at Memorial University for 10 years teaching Clinical Skills.

Outside of his professional life Derek is a husband, father of 2 sons, dog owner, hockey & basketball fan, avid traveller and practices a regular exercise routine for both physical and mental wellness.
